NPP’s Adenta Kumi drags Owusu Bempah, Prophet Isaac Nyarko to IGP

New Patriotic Party National Youth Organizer aspirant Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to arrest and prosecute Prophet Dr Isaac Nyarko, also known as Dr Power Man and Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah over alleged statements he claims could cause a breach of public peace.

In the petition addressed to the Police Headquarters in Accra on August 18, 2026, Kumi expressed concern over a publication by Prophet Isaac Nyarko of Grace Impartation Power Ministries, which he alleges was circulated across various social media platforms.

According to him, the publication has the potential to generate anger, tension and distress among sections of the Ghanaian public.

He is therefore calling on the Ghana Police Service to intervene and investigate the matter in accordance with Ghana’s laws, including the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491), and the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Kumi further alleged that Prophet Nyarko’s comments were influenced by an earlier pronouncement attributed to Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International.

He argued that such utterances could have implications for public order and called on the police to determine whether the statements constitute offences under the relevant provisions of the Criminal Offences Act.

The petitioner also appealed to the Police Service to use its cyber-surveillance capabilities to prevent the further circulation of the alleged publications if they are found to pose a threat to public peace.

He said maintaining peace and stability in Ghana should be a collective responsibility and urged citizens to cooperate with the police in safeguarding public order.

Kumi indicated that video evidence relating to the matter had been submitted to the police on a USB flash drive to assist with investigations.

He is consequently asking the Inspector General of Police to take the necessary steps to investigate the allegations and take appropriate legal action if any wrongdoing is established.

“I duly urge your office to swiftly intervene by honouring the subject above in accordance with the laws of Ghana based on Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491) and the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29)

“The influence by the author of such breach was derived from an earlier pronouncement of similar utterance by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah of Glorious Word Power Ministries International which is in line with the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29) under Section 20, the laws of Ghana frowns upon, “ part of the petition said.
