BOSTenergies is set to pay GH¢34.2 million in dividends to the Government of Ghana for the first time in the company’s history, following a strong financial performance in 2025.
The dividend represents 5% of the company’s profit after tax for the 2025 financial year, marking a significant shift for BOSTenergies from strengthening its financial position to generating direct returns for its shareholder.
Board Chairman of BOSTenergies, Professor Saint Kuttu, at the company’s annual general meeting said the dividend payment is a major milestone for the company.
“The payment of the first-ever dividend in the Company’s history is therefore not just a financial achievement. It is evidence of the progress BOSTenergies has made and the value that disciplined management and responsible oversight have created,” he said.
According to the company’s financial results, revenue increased from GH¢1.29 billion in 2024 to GH¢3.81 billion in 2025, representing growth of approximately 195%.
Profit after tax also rose by 72%, from GH¢398.40 million in 2024 to GH¢683.96 million.
The strong performance further strengthened the company’s balance sheet, with total equity more than doubling from GH¢677.20 million in 2024 to GH¢1.47 billion in 2025.
Total assets also increased by 50% from GH¢2.654 billion to GH¢3.989 billion over the same period.
Professor Kuttu said the improved results demonstrate that the company had moved beyond merely maintaining operations to creating significant value for its shareholder.
“These results show that the Company did more than remain afloat in 2025. BOSTenergies expanded its business, increased profitability, strengthened its net asset position, and created value for its shareholder,” he stated.
Shift from stabilisation to expansion
The Board Chairman said BOSTenergies will now shift its strategic focus from stabilising the business to expanding and diversifying its operations.
He said the company’s 2026 strategy will focus on improving the utilisation of its infrastructure, expanding its customer base, strengthening regional trade and pursuing commercially viable partnerships.
“Having focused on keeping the business afloat and strengthening its foundation in 2025, our strategic direction for 2026 is to grow and diversify BOSTenergies,” Professor Kuttu mentioned.
“The Company will move from stabilisation to expansion, from protecting its existing position to creating new sources of income, and from relying mainly on its traditional operations to building a broader and more resilient business.”
He added that diversification would require BOSTenergies to explore opportunities beyond its traditional petroleum storage and transportation activities.
The Board, he said, would support investments backed by sound business cases, clear market opportunities and acceptable levels of risk.
“Our ambition is not growth for its own sake. We are pursuing growth that is profitable, sustainable, and capable of creating lasting value for the Company and its shareholder,” he said.
Focus on petroleum infrastructure
Professor Kuttu noted that operational reliability remained central to the company’s activities during the year, with BOSTenergies continuing to manage its depots, pipelines, storage tanks and loading facilities in support of Ghana’s petroleum-products supply chain.
He said the Board also maintained oversight of initiatives to improve the utilisation of existing storage capacity, strengthen pipeline integrity, modernise depot operations and improve the efficiency of product transportation.
The company, he added, would continue pursuing commercially sound initiatives to position itself as a dependable regional petroleum storage and logistics partner.
Professor Kuttu described 2025 as a year of “resilience, stability, and renewed financial strength,” adding that the company’s performance provides a stronger foundation for its expansion agenda in 2026.
