Bosomtwe District: Stalled Lake road project resumes

Contractors have resumed work on the stalled Lake Road project in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, following persistent appeals for the project to be continued after the change of government.
The resumption comes as a relief to motorists and residents who have endured difficult travelling conditions since work on the road stalled.
Construction had stopped at the Abidjan-Nkwanta section after contractors completed the rehabilitation of the Ahinsan-Aputougya stretch, leaving road users to rely on the remaining uncompleted and deteriorated sections.
The situation has particularly affected motorists who have had to contend with heavy dust during the dry season and muddy roads when it rains.
Residents and drivers have repeatedly raised concerns about the condition of the road, especially because it serves communities around Lake Bosomtwe, a major tourist destination in the Ashanti Region.
Meanwhile, work has also resumed on the Feyiase-Sewua road, another key project that had stalled.
The road connects several communities in the region to the 250-bed-capacity Sewua Hospital and is currently undergoing asphalt works following the return of contractors to site.
Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, who monitored progress on both projects, said efforts were being made in collaboration with the current administration to ensure that the projects continued and were completed.
