
The Chiefs and Elders of the Brakwa Traditional Council have announced the coronation and enstoolment of Mr. Phillip Appiah Sam as the new Omankrado of Brakwa.
The colourful traditional ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, 5th October, 2026 at 10:00 AM prompt at the Brakwa Community Centre in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region.
The event is being held on the theme: “Uniting Brakwa For Accelerated Development!”
The ceremony is expected to bring together chiefs, queen mothers, family heads, youth groups, and sons and daughters of Brakwa both home and abroad, in a show of unity and cultural pride.
According to the Traditional Council, the stool of the Omankrado is a very significant one. The Omankrado plays a key role in community mobilization, maintenance of peace, and driving development initiatives.
Mr. Phillip Appiah Sam, a respected and well-known son of the land, has been nominated in line with custom and tradition to occupy the stool.
High-profile traditional leaders are expected to grace the occasion. Nana Kwame Essumam V, the Guantoahene of Ajumako Traditional Council will be the Guest of Honor, while Obrempong Dr. Nana Sasu IV, the Awosohene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council, will be present as Special Guest.
The Brakwa Traditional Council is therefore extending a special invitation to all citizens of Brakwa, traditional leaders from neighbouring communities, political leaders, and the general public to attend and make the ceremony a memorable one.
The Council says the enstoolment will mark a new dawn for unity and development in Brakwa.
