Everybody should push Kurt Okraku to become CAF President – Atta Poku

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aduana Stars Football Club, Collins Atta Poku, has urged Ghanaians to rally behind Kurt Okraku in his bid to contest for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Presidency.

According to him, the current second CAF Vice President has acquired the relevant experience needed to lead the continent’s football governing body.

He asserted that for this dream to materialise, Ghanaians must unite to push the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President to take the seat and elevate the confederation’s standards.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Kessben FM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Atta Poku noted that although he appreciates Kurt’s leadership abilities, he does not support his third-term bid at the GFA.

“Where Kurt Okraku has gotten to currently, everybody in Ghana should push him to become CAF President, even though I don’t personally support his third-term bid,” he said.

Atta Poku’s recent comments about the GFA President triggered backlash from some fans who believe he is no longer the outspoken critic they once knew when it came to addressing inefficiencies in the system.

Kurt Okraku’s potential third-term bid has become a major topic of discussion within the sporting fraternity, even though the GFA President is yet to announce whether he will officially run again.
