Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz says he is confident his team can beat Panama in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Preparations for the Black Stars have not been perfect. The team played only a few friendly matches, and there have been concerns about the fitness of some key players.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Queiroz said he believes in his team.
He said the players are capable of getting a good result in their first match and brushed aside concerns about their readiness.
“We’re strong, and we’re going to make it,” the former Egypt, Iran and Colombia coach said.
The Group L game will be played on Wednesday, June 17, at BMO Field. Ghana will be hoping to begin the tournament with a strong result.
