Liverpool appoint Andoni Iraola as new coach

Liverpool have appointed Andoni Iraola as their new head coach after parting ways with Arne Slot.
The club confirmed Slot’s departure on Saturday, just one year after he led Liverpool to the Premier League title. However, a disappointing 2025-26 season resulted in his exit.
Iraola joins Liverpool after leading AFC Bournemouth through the most successful season in the club’s history. Bournemouth finished sixth in the Premier League, qualified for the Europa League, and ended the season only one place and three points behind Liverpool.
The 43-year-old Spaniard announced in April that he would leave Bournemouth at the end of the season. His decision attracted interest from several top clubs, including Crystal Palace and AC Milan.
