NPP National Chairman aspirant Paul Afoko has stated that his focus is on engaging constituency officials and delegates ahead of the party’s National Officers Elections, rather than worrying about his position on the ballot.
Afoko said he would continue engaging party members while awaiting the outcome of the vetting exercise, after which the balloting process is expected to take place before the party heads to Congress.
“I’ll be engaging the constituency officials, our electorate, I’ll be engaging them and awaiting the verdict of the vetting and after that hopefully we’ll do the balloting and our next step will therefore be going to Congress,” he told MyNewsGh.
Asked whether he had a preferred ballot number, Afoko said he had none and would accept whatever position was assigned to him.
“I don’t have any. None whatsoever. It’s all in the hands of God. I have no preference. Whatever counts, counts and then we need to work with that,” he stated.
For Afoko, the ballot position is less important than winning the support of delegates at the constituency level.
“But the main work is actually working with the constituents. Once you get that job done, your ballot position doesn’t matter,” he added.
