Abronye submits passport as court revokes bench warrant

NPP Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, has had a bench warrant issued against him revoked after he reportedly submitted his passport and appeared before the Accra High Court.

According to a report by GhBrain TV, Abronye handed over his travel document on Friday and subsequently appeared in court, leading to the withdrawal of the warrant.

The court had earlier warned that he could be remanded into police custody if he failed to comply with a bail condition requiring him to deposit his passport.

On June 4, Abronye’s lawyers applied for a variation of the bail terms, arguing that their client needed to travel to the United Kingdom for educational purposes.

Abronye is currently facing charges of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace and publication of false news over alleged comments made against a circuit court judge.
