Youth reject Sam George’s claim that Ghanaians now get more data for less money

Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations Minister, Samuel Nartey George, says Ghanaians are now enjoying more mobile data for less money following government engagements with telecommunication operators.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series at the Jubilee House in Accra on Monday, September 7, 2026, the Minister said mobile network operators have increased data allocations on their bundles, giving consumers better value for money.

But while the Communications Minister insists consumers are getting better value, some Ghanaian youth who are the biggest consumers of mobile data have rejected the claim.

According to them, their experience on the ground does not reflect the Minister’s assertion, arguing that data is still expensive and gets exhausted quickly.

The youth in an interview with Francis Komba are now calling on the Minister to ensure his claims reflect the reality on the ground.
