Dompoase Chief orders removal of unauthorized structures to clear way for road works

The Chief of Adansi Dompoase, Okofo Kwabena Bonsu, has directed residents to remove all unauthorised structures that may obstruct ongoing and future road construction works in the township.

He said the clearance exercise is necessary to ensure the smooth execution of a road expansion project that had previously stalled but is expected to resume following a review of contractual terms under the new administration.

The Dompoasehene issued the warning during the celebration of Akwasidae at the Dompoase Palace in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, where development issues affecting the community were discussed.

Speaking in an interview, he cautioned individuals who have erected shops or engaged in farming activities along road corridors to voluntarily relocate their structures to avoid forced demolition.

He stressed that the township would not be allowed to be turned into farmland at the expense of its planned development and urban outlook.

Okofo Kwabena Bonsu added that while he remains committed to driving development projects within the traditional area, his concerns are aimed at correcting planning irregularities rather than targeting individuals.

He urged residents to take the directive seriously, noting that the focus is to improve the aesthetics and functionality of the town as road infrastructure development progresses.
