
The Member of Parliament for Agona West, Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey, has distributed trunks, chop boxes and other educational items to BECE graduates in the constituency who are preparing to enter Senior High School.
The initiative forms part of efforts to support students as they transition to a new stage of their academic journey.
Speaking at the ceremony, the MP urged parents not to be angry or discouraged when their children fail to meet the required grades for certain awards or opportunities. She encouraged them to continue supporting their children, stressing that every child has different academic abilities.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Agona West, Hon. Eric Gyamfi Odoom, also called on parents to take an active role in the upbringing and discipline of their children, stressing that the responsibility of disciplining children should not be left to teachers alone.
Some beneficiaries and their parents expressed their appreciation to the MP for the gesture.
The MP has assured that the initiative will continue every year as long as she remains in office.
