Partey had issues with visa to the United States – Kofi Adams

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has clarified reports surrounding visa issues involving Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Concerns had emerged that the Villarreal midfielder could face travel complications for Ghana’s Group L match against Panama in Canada on June 17.

However, speaking in an interview with Joy News, Adams said the situation had been resolved and denied any current visa denial.

“I am not aware that he has been denied a visa. I knew his previous visa to the United States had some challenges, but he has since been issued a visa to be able to enter the United States, and I am unaware that he has been denied a visa to Canada. No, not that I’m aware,” he stated.
